Nicolas Haaf – your guitar teacher in Hamburg
My name is Nicolas Haaf. I’m a qualified guitar teacher with a diploma and have been working as one for more than 20 years. My teachers include leading figures in classical music such as Joachim Held and Carlos Bonell. But because my roots are in rock music, I know that side well too—I originally wanted to go down that path, but then, almost by chance, I came into contact with some of the world’s best classical guitarists. I currently teach over 100 students. There’s no clear age focus among them—everything is represented, from primary school age to well into retirement. I firmly believe that every person has musical potential, and that this potential has no age limit. My many years as a guitar teacher in Hamburg have shown me that again and again. Seeing it time after time motivates me anew every single day.

Thanks to their highly individual approach, lessons with me promise excellent results. Just as you prefer, I teach both one-to-one and two-person lessons. Together, we’ll make sure you achieve quick, visible and audible progress. And it’s not only the lesson format that I tailor to your wishes and preferences. Through the different genres I’ve encountered over the course of my career as a guitarist—and as a guitar teacher in Hamburg—I can help you get closer to the style of music you love. Whether it’s rock, pop, jazz, or classical, I’ll teach you the characteristics and techniques of each genre. Whether classical guitar, electric guitar, or acoustic steel-string guitar—my students have a wide range of interests and goals, and I’m happy to support them on their journey. I’m always open to new challenges and would be delighted to spark and accompany your passion for playing guitar in the future.
Guitar lessons with passion – for more than 20 years
Playing guitar is truly close to my heart. That’s why I turned my hobby into my profession and have been sharing my enthusiasm with my students in Hamburg for 20 years. It doesn’t matter whether you’ve never held a guitar before, or you’re looking to refine your playing, want tips for performing in front of an audience, or simply want buying advice for your own guitar or an instrument for your child. I’m happy to help with any questions about guitar. You don’t need your own guitar for a trial lesson with me—I have loan guitars on site, and many students have taken their first steps and learned to play on them. If you’re not yet sure whether guitar lessons are right for you, I have a great offer: If you have the time and interest, I offer a free taster session in the mornings between 11 am and 1 pm, where you can get to know the instrument and the possibilities my lessons offer.
